GROTTAMMARE IS A SMALL TOWN ALONG THE COAST NEAR THE SEASIDE.
IN GROTTAMMARE THERE ARE TWO PARTS.
THERE IS AN OLD PART ON THE HILL AND A MODERN PART ON THE COAST.
THERE ARE ALSO SEVERAL ANCIENT LIBERTY VILLAS VERY PRETTY ON THE BEACH.
GROTTAMMARE IS PRETTY, OLD AND MODERN.

I live in Grottammare. It is a beautiful beach town; divided in two parts. The modern part is on the coast and there are many bars and hotels. The old part is on the hill; it’s popular with
tourist because it’s very pretty and there is lovely old church.
Description
I live in Grottammare, a small and cute town with a beautiful beach. Grottammare is divided principally in two parts: the centre or modern part with a lots of bar, restaurant, shops, pub and squares and this part is very near to the beach and there are also several liberty villas very pretty on the coast. The second part is the ancient and medieval village, situated on the modern town. Here, there are a lots of small typical old houses and many restaurants. This part is very beautiful specially by night. Grottammare have a mild climate and the life is good. I love my city.
Grottammare, prima di essere l'esclusivo centro balneare quale è oggi, è stato un approdo mercantile ed un luogo i cui gran parte degli abitanti erano dediti sia all'agricoltura che alla piccola pesca.
Le" realtà marinare" di un tempo, non sono più presenti sulla costa se non per le poche famiglie che ancora vivono "anche" di pesca locale.
Si possono però ripercorrerne le tracce.
Le ville e i palazzi storici ancora presenti sono in parte edifici dei ricchi mercanti che un tempo gestivano sia il commercio che le strutture che garantivano il sistema commerciale (ad es. Palazzo Ravenna, ora sede del Comune).
Con il succedersi di significative trasformazioni storiche, sono cambiati notevolmente le condizioni di vita e le realtà economiche (Unità d'Italia, avvento della rete ferroviaria ecc).
Le varie trasformazioni e i vari eventi hanno portato la nostra cittadina ad assumere ruoli ed aspetti diversi.
I cambiamenti continuano a succedersi...prestando attenzione si percepisce costantemente lo scorrere della storia: ricercare gli elementi culturali che caratterizzano ed hanno caratterizzato questo percorso, costituisce un interessante viaggio, nel presente e a ritroso, in cui rintracciare le matrici della nostra identità, fatta di una miriadi di incontri e contatti con tantissime altre culture.
